LOOPER Analysis

Looper is a 2012 American science fiction thriller film written and directed by Rian Johnson, and produced by Ram Bergman and James D. Sternl.the film grossed $176 million on a $30 million budget

The film is set in 2044 and follows the narrative of 25-year-old Joe works for a Kansas City crime syndicate as a "looper." Since future tracking systems have made it near-impossible to dispose of bodies, the syndicate uses time travel.loopers kill and dispose of face-concealed victims, and are paid with silver bars strapped to the target. To try stop connections to the syndicate, a looper's final victim will always be their retired future self effectively ending the contract and "closing the loop".
The film opens using a mid shot of one of the main characters, this is quite different as most films would open of a establishing shot of the location, this may tell the audience the film is shot in various locations. The camera then slowly turns to show what the protagonist is looking at, this builds up tension as the audience have no clue what's going on. Straight after this a gun sound is extremely exaggerated for dramatic effect, at this point the audience is clueless to what is going on. The fact that the character Joe is shot by the camera above the appearing character shows he is powerful.
Johnson was influenced during the
production of Looper by The TerminatorWitnessAkira, Domu: A Child's Dream12 MonkeysTimecrimes, and Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.

In conclusion the film was rated 93% out of 250 reviews on the website Rotten Tomatoes, in general the film got a positive response from the audience and critics.
