Soft and Wasp comparison

Compare Soft and Wasp. This essay will compare and contrast Wasp and Soft.Wasp comes under the genre of drama and is directed by Andrea Arnold, this short film is set in dartford . The film starts Natalie Press as a struggling single parent as her children are in the way of her meeting her long term friend Danny Dyer. Soft is directed by Simon Ellis ,this film also follows the genre of a drama because it follows the development of realistic charecrters,Soft film seems to be set in the suburbs . Wasp is a short film taken from a working class  perspective ,we get this idea from the establishing shot used near the beginning that shows  a estate this makes the audience pre-judge on what they would are like based on stereotypes ,for example we might persum they are rough and they use non standard english dialect. Wasp tends to follow this stereotype to add emphasis on the type of area they live in. Whereas soft has used an establishing shot of a house that would tends to be...

Get Off My Land and Ralph

Get Off My Land is a short film by Douglas Ray the genre of the short film is a dark comedy as it contains a serious advent of death of “trespassers” ,however towards the end there is a comedic sense to it , for example the actor who plays the land owner says “got a feeling that is a public footpath actually, even though the tragic event had already occured”. This tells us the death of the couple did not need to happen at all. Get off my land was set in the deep English countryside , the film takes place on a field belong to the land owner with various public footpaths through the land. The themes shown in this short film are love, death and violence due to the couple walking along the field , the death of the couple and than the fact they were killed with a weapon shows the violence. In my opinion the films storyline was pointless and wasn't funny at all because he killed the couple than realised his mistake, which i thought wasnt interesting at all. On the other hand ‘Ralph’ ...

Annabelle Creation review

My review is on Annabelle Creation 2017 it is associated with the genre of horror. The film showed key elements of horror such as jump scares darkness , a sinister theme  and a dark storyline, which I believe made the film more intriguing. However because in the genre of horror the storylines are constantly re told therefore some parts were too predictable at times ,as it was familiar which meant at times it seemed uneventful. The camera movements/angles made me as a viewer feel just as vulnerable as the actresses shown , this was because the audience saw everything from their perspective ,so it seemed like we was in danger with them and in some ways felt the same way. This was done by the camera constantly following the characters in danger as well as never showing where the sinister creature was coming from. Personally I thought this was a good thing as it made us as the audience want to know what happened next and left us on the edge of our seats. Furthermore the sound effect...
